INT. PIKE'S BUILDING - HALLWAY - NEXT
Connor and Pike are standing with one of Pike's tenants, a
normal human. Jason and Matthew are filming.
The guy (let's call him HANK) is obviously a bit
uncomfortable with the filming, but seems to be going along
with it.
Matthew is asking questions of the three, while Jason holds
the camera.
MATTHEW
Thanks a lot for your time, sir.
One more question: how did you come
to meet Mr. Pike?
HANK
Friend of a friend.
(aside; to Pike)
Hey, uh... Oliver... you sure this
is a good idea?
PIKE
We gotta show the world that not
all demons are evil.
HANK
Umm... I'm not a demon.
PIKE
It's a jumping off point. Trust me,
it's all good.
Hank nods, not really convinced.
HANK
Okay. As long as you know what
you're doing...
Pike gives him a reassuring grin, then takes off, waving for
Matthew, Jason and Connor to follow.
INT. PIKE'S BUILDING - COMMON ROOM - NEXT
Pike leads the film crew into what we'll call the "Common
Room," a room with a beaten-up pool table, a TV, and some
other recreational stuff. There's also a carpet off in the
corner, out of the way of everything.
Several tenants (Both human and demon) are mulling about,
although they've all turned to check out the camera crew
that's just entered the room.
PIKE
Hey everyone. These guys are gonna
be going around, getting to know
you folks a bit, so just pretend
we're not here unless we start
asking you questions, alright?
The tenants continue to stare.
PIKE
(claps)
Okay then!
He walks over to a yellow-skinned demon tenant, a skinny
twenty-something guy who's watching a game of 8-ball between
two humans.
PIKE
Hey, Jay, what's shaking?
JAY stares at the camera, spooked.
PIKE
It's alright, man. Trust me.
Jay doesn't move, just stares.
Pike looks over, noticing a human WOMAN over by the back
wall, who really doesn't seem to interested in the film crew.
PIKE
Shan! Hey!
He darts over to her, the camera crew (plus Connor) right on
his heels.
SHAN looks up at the camera crew, disinterested. Matthew and
Jason get right up in her face.
MATTHEW
What is it like living in a
building full of demons?
JASON
Do you ever get uncomfortable with
the demons?
MATTHEW
Are you in a relationship with one
of the demons?
Shan really doesn't know what to say, so without speaking,
she just walks away.
Jason tries to follow her with the camera, but Pike grabs him
by the back of the shirt and pulls him back.
PIKE
Alright, guys, this isn't working.
We're done for today.
MATTHEW
Are you kidding? That's all we get?
Connor pipes up:
CONNOR
We'll pick it up tomorrow.
JASON
Alright, alright. I think I got at
least half an hour of usable
footage here... we can use that
parasite demon too, I guess...
Pike leads them out of the room, and we CUT TO:
INT. UNKNOWN - EVENING
We're looking at a computer screen, where the man from
earlier, Hank, is talking to Pike.
CUT BACK to reveal a large KALIFF DEMON (Red leathery skin,
rows of horns on each side of the head, just above the ears,
as well as on the cheeks) sitting in a chair, watching the
video. This demon is called KAAR.
Kaar stares at the screen, looking calm yet incredibly scary.
He looks up at one of his DEMON henchmen, also a Kaliff, and
asks:
KAAR
Well, I'll be damned. That's Hank,
isn't it?
DEMON
I think it is, boss.
Kaar sits back in his chair and strokes his chin.
KAAR
You know where that building is?
The other demon nods.
KAIA
Why don't you boys schedule with
him an appointment, eh?
The other demon nods, ducking out of the room.
Off Kaar's emotionless face, we

ACT TWO
FADE IN:
INT. G&C'S APARTMENT - GABRIELLA'S ROOM - MORNING
Close up on Gabriella, still asleep, covers pulled up to her
chin.
She stirs, uncomfortable, and opens her eyes.
We pull back, finding that Jason and Matthew are in the room,
filming her.
Gabriella THRUSTS her hand out, sending them flat on their
asses with a small burst of magic!
JASON
Jesus!
Gabriella, now sitting up with the blanket wrapped tightly
around her, finally realizes what's going on when she sees
the camera in Jason's hand.
GABRIELLA
(yelling)
Connor!
Connor pokes his head into the room, paling when he sees the
guys in the room.
CONNOR
(to Gabriella)
Okay, calm down.
GABRIELLA
Get them out!
Matthew looks up at Connor, amazed at what just happened to
him.
MATTHEW
DUDE! She can do magic!
CONNOR
Guys...
GABRIELLA
Out!
Lesi scampers out from under the bed, darting out the door as
quickly as possible.
Gabriella notices her dog fleeing and glares even harder at
the filmmakers.
GABRIELLA
(screaming)
Get the hell out of my house!
JASON
Well, actually, if you look
outside, it's really an apartment.
The sheer stupidity of that statement forces Gabriella to
pause for a moment, but she quickly snaps out of it.
GABRIELLA
Connor. Out. Now.
CONNOR
I didn't-
GABRIELLA
Out. Or I swear to God I will turn
you all into... rats!
Connor sighs, grabbing Matthew and Jason by their collars and
hauling them out of the room.
Gabriella uses magic to SLAM the door.
GABRIELLA
And it's a condo!
EXT. CHARON BUILDING - NEXT
Outside of the Charon building, Connor and the two filmmakers
walk down the street, Matthew eagerly chatting away with
Connor while Jason examines the footage he got of Gabriella's
magic.
MATTHEW
Oh, man, this is gonna be awesome!
You gotta take us on all the
sights, dude. Big battles, heroic
deaths. The unsung heroes will
finally have their day!
Connor sighs.
CONNOR
Look, guys, if we're gonna do this,
it's done my way. One: never, ever
film a woman while she's sleeping.
JASON
We were just-
CONNOR
Never. Ever.
(beat)
Two: take this seriously. I want
the world to see this for what it
is, not some dressed up video game.
Jason stops fiddling with the camera, raising it an looking
right at Connor.
JASON
Relax, dude. We know what we're
doing.
MATTHEW
Yeah. Let's get your friend and go
do this thing!
Connor sighs.
INT. UNKNOWN ROOM - DAY
Looking at Connor and Pike through Jason's hand-held digital
cam, the two guys is talking right to their audience.
CONNOR
I think... the best part about the
whole thing is that I really never
get bored. There's always lots of
action.
PIKE
Well, for me there is...
CONNOR
And it's... it's interesting,
really, because it's not something
you'd think to do if you were bored
on a Friday night.
CUT TO:
INT. SAME ROOM - LATER
Just Pike now, still talking into the camera.
PIKE
Connor's a bit arrogant, I think.
Not much, just a bit. But you've
got to be, in this line of work.
CUT TO:
INT. SAME ROOM - LATER
Connor's by himself.
CONNOR
Pike is... Pike is Pike. There's
not much else I can add to that.
CUT TO:
INT. SAME ROOM - LATER
Pike again.
PIKE
Gabrielle is... she is...
(beat, worried)
Wait, Kaia's not gonna see this, is
she?
MATTHEW (O.S.)
Who's Kaia?
CUT TO:
INT. SAME ROOM - LATER
Connor.
CONNOR
I like Kaia. She's-
MATTHEW (O.S.)
You've got something in your teeth
there.
CONNOR
(picking at his teeth)
What?
CUT TO:
INT. SAME ROOM - LATER
Pike's back in the hotspot.
PIKE
Me and Kaia have been together for
fifteen months.
(beat; shakes his head)
Fourteen. Fourteen months.
CUT TO:
INT. SAME ROOM - LATER
Connor again.
CONNOR
I met a Slayer once. A few times,
actually. They're... interesting.
Can be very intimidating.
CUT TO:
INT. SAME ROOM - LATER
Pike.
PIKE
I don't know... a thousand? A
hundred thousand? I don't really
keep track...
CUT TO:
INT. SAME ROOM - LATER
Connor's back.
CONNOR
How many demons have I killed?
Um... do ones from Quor'Toth count?
MATTHEW (O.S.)
You've still got something in your
teeth.
CONNOR
(rubbing his teeth)
Dammit!
CUT TO:
EXT. ALLEY - AFTERNOON
Connor and Pike lead Jason and Matthew down a wide back
alley. Those who watched "Angel" might recognize it as the
alley just outside of Caritas (where Connor was born).
Jason looks around, trying to get as much footage on tape as
he can.
PIKE
So this is the place, huh?
CONNOR
Yup.
JASON
Why here?
CONNOR
There used to be a bar right...
(pointing)
...there. I think it's getting
turned into a Starbucks.
JASON
Wicked...
Connor gives the cameraman a sideways glance, still not used
to his two new bestest buddies.
Matthew signals to Jason, who turns the camera to face
Matthew as the man himself starts narrating.
MATTHEW
So we're here with Connor and Pike
again, looking at the place where
Connor was born. Tell us,
gentlemen, do you recall what
happened in that moment?
Jason turns to point at Connor, who just shrugs.
PIKE
(beat)
I wasn't here for this. Connor?
CONNOR
I dunno... I was probably crying. I
heard it was raining that night.
MATTHEW
So you don't remember your mother
staking herself?
Uh oh.
CONNOR
(low)
No.
Matthew nods, solemnly.
MATTHEW
A tragic story.
He signals to Jason, who closes the camera again.
Matthew darts over and re-opens the camera looking at the
footage.
PIKE
Staking her...
(beat; to Connor)
Wait, your mom was a vampire?
CONNOR
(low)
No. I mean, she was, but-
(sighs)
Long story.
PIKE
Am I the only normal guy here?
MATTHEW
(watching the footage)
Oh, man, this is great stuff.
Beautiful, oh this is gonna be
awesome!
Connor and Pike exchange a weary glance.
CONNOR
Yeah, that's great and all, bu we
should really be going now.
MATTHEW
Yeah, of course! Lots more to do
today!
He takes off down the alley, practically skipping.
EXT. IN-N-OUT BURGER - DAY
Connor looks up at the brand new restaurant, somewhat
surprised to see it there.
Pike, Jason and Matthew are also there, and they don't know
what to make of the place.
MATTHEW
Did you... did you work here or
something?
CONNOR
No. No, I... this is where Wolfram
and Hart used to be.
Jason begins filming the surrounding area.
JASON
And this is the last place you saw
your father, Angelus?
CONNOR
Angel. And yeah.
MATTHEW
You don't know where he went after
here?
CONNOR
Uh...no.
MATTHEW
Did you ever see him turn anyone?
Or at least feed?
Pike blinks, reading between the lines.
PIKE
(incredulous)
Your dad's a vampire too?!?
CONNOR
Umm...well...
PIKE
When all this is over, we're having
a serious conversation.
Connor nervously rubs the back of his neck. Pike can tell
this isn't really a subject Connor is comfortable talking
about, so he speaks up with:
PIKE
Hey, I ever tell you guys about the
time I helped burn down a gym?
CONNOR
(shakes his head)
Let's go. There's nothing left to
see here.
INT. WAREHOUSE - NEXT
Connor, Pike, Matthew, and Jason are walking through an old,
abandoned warehouse: Where Connor was forced to live for
brief period of time.
CONNOR
And yeah, I stayed here for a bit.
Not bad, once you get used to it.
Jason is again filming.
JASON
Did you live here by yourself?
CONNOR
Mostly. I had a guest for a while.
MATTHEW
Who was he?
CONNOR
She.
MATTHEW
Was it Winifred Burkle? No, wait.
It was Cordelia Chase, wasn't it?
Connor doesn't offer a response. He just looks away. Pike
looks at him, again picking up on the nerve being hit.
MATTHEW
Wow, it was! Were you in a
relationship?
JASON
I heard she got body jacked by-
PIKE
Lay off, guys.
CONNOR
(to Pike; whispering)
Thanks.
(out loud)
Sorry. It's just really a... touchy
subject for me.
Jason and Matthew shrug. Whatever.
MATTHEW
Okay, any major fights here?
CONNOR
(nods)
I fought The Beast here.
MATTHEW
The Beast?
CONNOR
Big guy. Made of Rock. Angel killed
him.
Jason "aaahhhhs" and does one last sweep of the inside before
snapping the camera closed.
MATTHEW
I'm thinking we do some kind of
expose once a week on these kinda
places. I'm sure there's lots of
stories you have, right Connor?
CONNOR
Not many I care to tell.
MATTHEW
(beat)
Okay then! Any other places our
viewers would like to see?
PIKE
Uh...
CONNOR
(thinks to himself)
Yeah, there is one.
CUT TO:
INT. HYPERION HOTEL - DAY
Inside the now-infamous HYPERION HOTEL.
Dust covers everything. The place is more or less just like
how Angel and co. left it, although some things are missing.
Connor and Pike lead the two filmmakers into the building,
Jason, of course, filming every moment.
CONNOR
This is where we used to live...
lots of stuff took place here.
JASON
(still filming)
Like what?
CONNOR
Like... vampires.
JASON
Vampires? What did they do?
CONNOR
(pointing)
No, vampires!
Jason looks over to where Connor is pointing, and sure
enough, there's a gang of vamps looking menacingly at our
heroes (and their film crew).
VAMPIRE LEADER
The hell do you kids think you're
going here?
Connor crosses his arms.
CONNOR
My dad owns this building.
VAMPIRE LEADER
(grins)
Daddy's boy, eh? Well, then, why
don't we-
He's cut off by a BLUR flying through the air, right towards
his chest...
But Connor's thrown stake is REPELLED by some sort of energy!
VAMPIRE LEADER
(looking down)
What the hell?
CONNOR
(worried)
Oh boy.
Pike gets into a fighting stance, scanning the opposition.
There's half a dozen vampires, all of which look very hungry.
PIKE
Uh, what's up with these guys?
Connor?
CONNOR
Dammit, there's a spell. Didn't
think it'd still be active. No
demon violence allowed.
PIKE
No violence against demons?
CONNOR
No, no violence by demons. Humans
can do whatever they want, though.
PIKE
Oh. Okay.
(beat)
Wait, what?
VAMPIRE LEADER
Kill them!
The vampires rush towards Connor and Pike first, recognizing
the bigger threat.
Pike DUCKS under a punch and KICKS a vampire in the stomach.
The vampire leader DIVES at Connor, who just stands where he
is, not impressed.
The leader BOUNCES OFF the energy that protects Connor,
sending him flat on his ass.
Pike withdraws a small handgun and FIRES into the nearest
vampire, DUSTING it.
The vampires know something's up, and they regroup, trying to
work out an alternate plan of attack.
PIKE
This part of the conversation we're
having later?
Connor LEAPS towards the vampires, landing behind one and
GRABBING him, holding his arms behind his head.
CONNOR
I can still help.
Pike rushes over and KICKS the captive vamp, who falls to the
ground. Pike then SHOOTS and DUSTS him.
One of the other vampires attacks JASON, who yelps in fright
just before the sanctuary spell saves him.
PIKE
Not the brightest of vampires, are
you?
VAMPIRE LEADER
(yelling)
Which one is the witch?
Pike goes after two more with his gun, DUSTING them in quick
succession.
Connor grabs the vampire leader, again pinning him.
CONNOR
Pike!
Pike's already dusted another one.
He points the gun at Connor.
CONNOR
Whoa whoa. Stake! It's-
Connor looks around for his stake.
CONNOR
Where'd it go?
JASON
Oh, I've got it!
He holds up the sharp piece of wood, grinning.
CONNOR
(indicating vamp)
You mind?
Jason blinks. Connor struggles to hold the vamp in place.
JASON
You... you want me to...
He makes a staking motion.
CONNOR
If you could.
Jason practically wets himself. He tosses the camera to
Matthew.
JASON
Dude, you gotta get this.
MATTHEW
Yeah, yeah, gimme a sec...
Connor, still holding onto the struggling vampire, gives them
a bewildered look.
CONNOR
Uh, guys? Could you speed it up?
Matthew finally gets the camera filming, and nods to Jason.
MATTHEW
Okay man, you're good to go!
Jason walks up to the vampire, raising the stake and holding
it just a few inches away from the vampire's heart.
CONNOR
(rolls eyes)
Finally...
ON JASON, as he stares the vampire down, trying to look as
intimidating as possible.
JASON
(slowing draws his arm
back)
Alright, you evil scum! Now, it is
time to pay for your crimes! You
are at the end here, demon.
Anything last words?
CONNOR
Just do it already!
MATTHEW
Audio was off a bit, Jase. Repeat
that last line?
Jason nods.
JASON
Any last words?
No answer.
JASON
Uh, could you maybe like, make one
last threat, or something? Just
something to heighten the tension
for our-
Connor rolls his eyes and SHOVES the vampire forward,
impaling him on the stake and DUSTING him!
MATTHEW
Dude, you totally ruined the shot!
Pike blinks.
PIKE
Wait, I thought you couldn't kill
in here?
CONNOR
(shrugs)
Loophole? Maybe it's-
PIKE
(cuts him off)
Whatever. Didn't need the full
course, professor.
Connor grins, picking up the stake and tucking it away.
MATTHEW
Alright, we need to get another
vampire, man. That just made us
look-
Connor's heading for the door.
CONNOR
No. We're going home now.
JASON
Whoa, dude, there's no need to-
CONNOR
Until you stop treating this like a
game, you won't be going anywhere
with us.
Matthew sighs.
MATTHEW
Fine, fine. Can we at least get
some more of your story, then?
Connor rolls his eyes.
CONNOR
Pike?
PIKE
They're all yours. I'm heading
home.
CONNOR
(sighs)
Great. Okay. Let's go to Alessia's
shop.
JASON
Who?
CONNOR
(beat)
C'mon.
He leads the guys out.
