INT. PALACE - FOYER - NEXT
Connor, now draped in a silk robe with his hair in a
ponytail, walks with Kaia to the center of the front entrance
where the servant from earlier is standing with the hobo
vamp.
Both of them BOW when Connor approaches them. Connor freezes
when he's a few feet away.
CONNOR
Whoa.
KAIA
(to Connor)
What is it?
CONNOR
(re: vampire)
Take a whiff of him.
Kaia sniffs the air and crinkles her nose.
KAIA
I just smell rat turds.
CONNOR
(to the vampire)
Tell me about this woman you ran
into.
The hobo holds his hand out at about his shoulder's height.
HOBO VAMPIRE
About yay tall. Long dark hair.
Banging figure, bro. Let me tell
ya.
(blinks)
I mean, Mr. Connor. Sir.
CONNOR
And you said she called my name.
HOBO VAMPIRE
Yes, sir.
CONNOR
Are you sure? Because if you're
not, your screams are gonna let me
know the sun's up in the morning.
HOBO VAMPIRE
I swear, sir. On my undead life.
He pulls out Gabriella's shirt and holds it out to Connor.
Connor's face lights up, recognizing it instantly. He
SNATCHES it out of the vampire's hands and deeply inhales the
scent.
CONNOR
Gabriella?
KAIA
(shocked)
What?
She snatches the shirt from Connor and takes a whiff herself.
Now her face lights up.
KAIA
Can't be.
CONNOR
(to the vamp; sharp)
Where did you see her?
HOBO VAMPIRE
(suddenly nervous)
In an alley. Just a few blocks from
here. I ran right over afterwards.
Connor and Kaia look to one another and nod.
CONNOR
Show me.
The vampire eagerly nods, happy he's not going to be Connor's
alarm clock.
SMASH CUT TO:
INT. UNDERGROUND PARKING DECK - NIGHT
Justine parks her truck and cuts the engine. The three women
hop out of the car. Gabriella's the last out and she notices
a figure standing at a doorway to a flight of stairs.
It's PIKE. The Pike we met in 2x02, sans half of his right
arm and grizzly grey beard and hair.
DARE
Hey, chief!
(holds up her hands)
Double high five!
Pike and Gabriella hold a deep gaze before he rushes over and
embraces her.
PIKE
(blabbering)
I... I don't believe it. I didn't
want to believe it, but I heard
your voice and...
He hugs her even tighter, causing her to gag a little.
PIKE
Sorry.
(releases her)
Sorry.
Pike takes a moment to take in her appearance.
PIKE
I don't get it. You look the same.
GABRIELLA
Pike, what the hell is going on?
Pike sighs and looks away.
PIKE
(dejected)
Oh, so Justine didn't tell you.
GABRIELLA
Tell me what?
Pike looks to his (apparently) long lost friend.
PIKE
Welcome to the end of the world.
He takes her by the shoulder and gently guides her towards
the staircase. Dare and Justine swap confused looks before
they follow.
FADE TO BLACK.
END OF ACT ONE
ACT TWO
FADE IN.
INT. ABANDONED SUBWAY STATION - MAIN DEPOT - NIGHT
Pike leads Gabriella (still wrapped in her blanket) into a
very large subway train stop. It's converted into a makeshift
shelter inhabited by humans in various states of health.
Justine and Dare bring up the rear.
Gabriella takes in her surroundings. All over the walls are
various GLYPHS and rune-like SYMBOLS. Two young boys playing
tag run by her. Gabriella notices they have similar symbols
all over their bare chests.
GABRIELLA
Is this... the Red Line?
PIKE
Yeah, it shut down when my
neighborhood was destroyed. It's
been home for awhile now.
ALICIA SINCAID, carrying a small redhead boy no more than two
years old and crying at the top of his lungs in her arms,
approaches them. She squints when she notices Gabriella.
ALICIA
(to herself)
I don't believe it.
(to Pike)
How did this-
The boy SCREAMS, cutting her off. She shifts him in her arms
and bounces him up and down, but he continues to cry. Dare
steps up to Alicia and holds out her arms.
DARE
Here, let me.
Alicia hands over the young boy and Dare lightly bounces him
up and down in her arms a few times. She locks eyes with the
little boy. He instantly stops crying.
Dare grins and the boy grins right back at her. She tickles
his stomach and he giggles and squirms in her arms. Dare
kisses him on the forehead and hands him back over to Alicia.
ALICIA
Thanks.
PIKE
(to Alicia)
Spread the word. We're running Plan
Omega. Get everyone ready.
Alicia nods and walks off. She gets about two steps away
before turning back and handing Gabriella a shirt.
ALICIA
Almost forgot. You're taller than
me, but it should fit.
Gabriella takes the shirt with a nod and puts it on, shedding
the blanket and handing it off to Alicia. Alicia takes it and
walks off in the direction she came from.
Pike turns around and addresses Justin and Dare.
PIKE
Call everyone in for the rest of
the night. We need to be rested and
ready.
Dare nods and Justine gives Pike a mock salute before they
walk away. Pike turns back around and continues leading
Gabriella through
GABRIELLA
What's Plan Omega?
PIKE
(cold)
A last resort.
GABRIELLA
Last resort for what? Pike!
She grabs Pike's arm (the whole one) and yanks him to a stop.
GABRIELLA
What the hell is going on? You've
got Enochian symbols all over the
walls-
She grabs the collar of his t-shirt and pulls it down,
revealing the start of a huge GLYPH on his chest.
GABRIELLA
- and the people here. Demons
walking around downtown like it's
nothing new. What happened here?
Pike huffs and his face tightens.
PIKE
Connor happened.
Pike points to an enclosed ticketing office off to the side
and starts to walk over to it. After a beat, Gabriella
follows.
EXT. ALLEY - NIGHT
Back in the alley where Gabriella first arrived. Connor leads
the way. He's now wearing all black and a long duster.
Kaia, Peyton, Casey, Taylor, and the hobo vampire are all
with him. Taylor's nose is heavily bandaged.
HOBO VAMPIRE
Yeah, bro, it was right here.
Connor steps away from the group, looking almost in awe of
the surroundings.
CONNOR
(to himself)
This is where it happened.
(bows his head)
She must've...
He groans and slaps himself on the forehead, putting
everything together.
HOBO VAMPIRE
Put up a pretty fight for a chick.
Got a mean right hook.
The skin on Connor's face turns pale and splotchy as his eyes
haze to BLACK. He turns to face the group.
CONNOR
(sharp)
Incedia!
In the blink of an eye, the vampire bursts into flames! He
only gets seconds to scream before he turns to DUST.
Kaia and her daughters barely bat an eyelash.
CONNOR
Kaia, it's time to release the
hounds. We're going hunting.
Kaia shakes her head.
KAIA
If Pike's been able to conceal
himself from us, we won't find her
if she's-
CONNOR
When I want your opinion, I'll tell
you what it is so you can recite it
back to me. Go!
Kaia closes her eyes and slowly nods her head before turning
and leaving the alley, throwing Connor a withering look
behind his back before she answers her ringing cell phone.
Connor turns to the triplets. His hand snaps forward towards
Taylor and she flinches. He smirks and gently strokes her
cheek. Taylor closes her eyes and enjoys the caress.
CONNOR
Are my babies hungry?
PEYTON
(moaning)
Starved.
CONNOR
Good.
Connor hooks his arms out at his side. Casey and Peyton each
take one arm and together all of them stroll out of the
alley, with Taylor bringing up the rear.
INT. ABANDONED SUBWAY STATION - OFFICE - NEXT
Gabriella is sitting in a metal folding chair reading a
weathered NEWSPAPER. Looking over her shoulder, we see the
byline reads "Connor declares martial law. Institutes
worldwide curfew."
She quickly flips through the rest of the pages before
tossing it on the desk in front of Pike.
GABRIELLA
I can't believe it.
PIKE
I've got stacks of 'em if you want
to read more. That's when he
mandated all humans had to be
indoors before dusk.
GABRIELLA
But it's... it's Connor. He's not,
I mean, he's not supposed to be...
She can't even bring herself to say it.
PIKE
What? Evil?
(snorts; bitter)
Damn sure fooled me. Someone get
him an Oscar.
GABRIELLA
How did this happen?
Pike gets up and walks over to a nearby mini fridge, pulling
out a bottle of orange juice. He pulls out a PILL BOTTLE and
chases a large dose with the juice.
PIKE
Well, which version do you want?
The one that was supposed to happen
or the one that did happen?
GABRIELLA
Just start from the beginning.
PIKE
(pointed)
Well, that'd be you. Or the lack
thereof.
He sits back in his seat and SIGHS, preparing for a long
tale.
PIKE
You said the last major thing you
remember was that thing with The
Scourge?
Gabriella nods. Pike sits forward in the chair.
PIKE
Okay, long story short. A few
months after that, Connor got
caught up in some nasty stuff. And
he killed someone. An innocent.
Gabriella is visibly rocked by that news.
GABRIELLA
Wh... it was an accident, right?
PIKE
(grim)
No, he knew what he was doing. And
then everything went to Hell.
He leans back in the chair.
PIKE
Fate had a sense of humor and
decided around then was a GREAT
time to kick off the end of the
world, but Connor was out of play.
So he asked you to use the crystal.
Go back in time. Stop the murder
before it happens.
GABRIELLA
I... I couldn't use the crystal. I
didn't have my powers.
PIKE
Yes, you did, but hang on. I'm
getting to that. So you used the
crystal, went back, and saved the
day. But in the process, there's an
accident.
GABRIELLA
I tampered with time. Messed
something up in the past that
changed things for the worse?
PIKE
You could say that.
(beat)
You died. In a car wreck.
(beat)
And Connor couldn't deal. Blamed
himself. Blamed the world. The
Powers that Be. The Senior
Partners.
Pike looks away, obviously fighting off long buried emotions.
PIKE
There was no coming back after
that.
Gabriella silently takes all that in.
INT. SUBWAY TUNNEL - NIGHT
Connor, Peyton, Taylor, Casey, and a whole pack of
transformed WEREWOLVES stride down the center of a dark
subway tunnel.
CONNOR
The Red Line. Clever. I almost feel
stupid for not thinking of it.
The girls and wolves all stop and sniff the air. Connor
continues to walk forward, holding his hand out in front of
him.
CASEY
I don't understand. I can't pick up
anything past here.
PEYTON
I can't either. It's like she just
vanished.
CONNOR
That's exactly what happened.
Everyone turns to Connor, who extends his arm out in front of
him. The air just in front of his palm RIPPLES, like still
water after a stone was cast into it.
CONNOR
(to himself)
Well, aren't we just full of
surprises, Pike?
He turns around and claps his hands.
CONNOR
Alright, who's hungry?
He looks to the girls, who all have excited expressions on
their faces.
CONNOR
(nods to Taylor)
Call your mom and tell her to meet
us over this way. Search is over.
He turns back to the invisible barrier in front of him and
holds out his hands. His eyes glaze to BLACK and his skin
turns pale again.
The air in front of him begins to ripple, slowly at first,
but rapidly getting more and more erratic.
INT. ABANDONED SUBWAY STATION - OFFICE - NEXT
Gabriella has her face buried in her hands. Pike watches her
with a stone cold expression. Alicia pops her head in the
door and WHISTLES to get Pike's attention.
ALICIA
Omega's a go. Boys are gearing up.
Pike nods and Alicia leaves. Gabriella lifts her head back
up.
GABRIELLA
(shaky)
How am I still alive then?
PIKE
(deadpan)
The family that died were the wife
and kid of this guy named Patrick-
GABRIELLA
(finishing for him)
- Myers. Oh God.
PIKE
Yeah. And when Osama bin Connor
took power, we came up with this
plan. To stop and anyone else who
could-
Gabriella BOLTS up out of her chair.
GABRIELLA
It was you?!? You sent that sick
bastard after me?
Pike sits up in his chair, but his calm tone remains.
PIKE
What other choice did I have? Every
attempt we made to take Connor down
failed. I kept losing more and more
people.
(beat; softly)
I... I got desperate.
He leans back, away from a still fuming Gabriella.
PIKE
Believe me, I didn't want to do
anything to hurt you.
But if it stopped you from getting
yourself killed and all this from
happening, then it was worth it.
(bitter)
Or I thought it was. It didn't
work.
Gabriella sits back down as well.
PIKE
And I would think you'd know a
little something about being
desperate. Otherwise, you wouldn't
be here, would you?
Gabriella looks away. She can't argue that.
PIKE
And because you're here, you're not
there. And everything stayed
exactly the same.
GABRIELLA
How the hell do you even know that,
anyway? That things are the same. I
mean, if I jumped forward instead
of back, some things HAD to change.
PIKE
Myers took care of all that. Put
some kind of... something in my
head so I'd remember everything.
Like a fail safe or-
A loud ALARM starts to blare throughout the station. Pike
pops out of his chair.
PIKE
Aww, damn!
GABRIELLA
What is it?
Pike rushes out of the room, not bothering to answer her.
INT. ABANDONED SUBWAY STATION - DEPOT - CONTINUOUS
The alarm is louder out here. Parents are hastily picking up
their belongings (including their kids) and clearing out.
Pike is approached by Justine and Dare, who are both packing
assault rifles.
Gabriella walks up beside Pike, but he doesn't even give her
a glancing look.
DARE
What do you want to do?
PIKE
Get our A team out of here right
now. Omega's screwed if they get
caught. That's top priority.
GABRIELLA
What's Omega?
PIKE
There's a secret entrance to
Connor's place. We're sending a
team in and getting the drop on
him.
Alicia runs up to Pike, carrying a shotgun in one arm and her
son in the other. A redhead man in his early thirties, just
slightly younger than her, rushes over with another shotgun.
He hands Pike his shotgun and takes Alicia's child from her.
PIKE
Nick, get the others to the backup
shelter.
NICK SINCAID nods and dashes off.
PIKE
(to Gabriella)
We need to get you out of here
before-
CONNOR (O.S.)
Sorry we're so late to the party!
All eyes turn to Connor and the pack of werewolves backing
him up.
CONNOR
Got a little lost on the-
He freezes when he spots Gabriella. They lock eyes for a long
time, neither wanting to believe the sight of the other.
Connor breaks the staring contest and turns to his pack.
CONNOR
Alright! Chow down!
Pike and the rest of his troops open fire on the swarming
werewolves, who dart and dodge all over the place to avoid
getting hit.
Behind Pike, about a dozen men armed to the teeth with
weapons rush out down the other end of the subway tunnel.
Several of the werewolves pounce on the escaping families,
quickly sinking their jaws into the terrified masses.
Connor walks with a cocky swagger through all the
pandemonium, with Taylor, Peyton, and Casey right behind him.
Without even looking, Connor grabs a terrified young man on
her arms and callously SNAPS her neck, all without breaking
stride.
Justine gets over to Pike, firing an ASSAULT RIFLE and
managing to gun down a couple of nearby werewolves.
JUSTINE
(to Pike)
We've got you covered. Omega team's
clear. Get going!
Pike grabs Gabriella's arm and yanks her down a walkway away
from the carnage. Dare and Alicia follow after them.
Connor watches Pike retreat and smirks.
CONNOR
(calling out)
Girls!
Peyton, Casey, and Taylor, after she finishes snapping a
young boy's neck, look to Connor.
CONNOR
(nods towards walkway)
Go say hello to your father for me.
All three girls grin and their eyes go BLACK. They
simultaneously transform into WEREWOLVES. The three of them
dash past Connor, pursuing Pike and the others.
IN THE WALKWAY
Pike practically drags Gabriella down the tunnel. All of
their heads snap around when they hear HOWLS echoing in the
tunnel.
PIKE
Dammit.
Pike stops and turns towards the oncoming foes. He and Alicia
load shells into their guns. Despite only having one arm,
Pike does it much faster.
PIKE
(to Dare)
Take Gabriella up to the streets.
Get her out of here.
DARE
Dude, you don't stand a chance.
PIKE
If it's who I think it is, they're
not gonna hurt me. As long as Omega
goes off, this'll be worth it. Now
go!
Gabriella lingers for a moment, but Dare drags her away.
BACK IN THE DEPOT
Connor stands right in the center of the depot with his arms
behind his back, surveying the mayhem of fur, bullets, and
body parts flying around.
Justine and a half dozen of Pike's men take aim at Connor and
open fire.
Connor creepily grins and the bullets all FREEZE six inches
in front of him. He turns his head to the side and all the
bullets do a 180 in mid air.
Justine's eyes go wide.
JUSTINE
Down!
She dives behind a stone pillar as Connor returns every
bullet to sender, striking all of the other shooters down and
blowing chunks out of the pillar Justine is hiding behind.
BACK IN THE WALKWAY
Pike and Alicia are firing at the transformed werewolves, who
are avoiding the shots with uncanny speed and agility.
ALICIA
Screw this.
Alicia throws her gun down and starts to transform herself.
She barely gets furry before one of the werewolves barrels
right into her, knocking her to the ground.
Pike ducks the flying leap of one, but is knocked to the
ground by the third werewolf.
The wolf on top of Alicia raises both paws and smashes them
down into Alicia's face, knocking her out cold.
All three of them shift back to human form. Peyton has her
foot on top of Pike, holding him down. Taylor and Casey stand
over their father and cross their arms.
TAYLOR
(waves)
Hi, Daddy! Miss us?
PIKE
I miss that condom I couldn't find
the night you three were conceived.
Casey bends over and SLASHES Pike across his cheek.
CASEY
That's enough of that. Now are you
gonna surrender or do I need to eat
your other arm this time?
Peyton picks up Pike's shotgun and aims it right in his eye.
Pike's resolve face and he lets his head fall back to the
ground. Beaten.
IN THE DEPOT
Justine frantically searches the area, trying to find Connor
through all the chaos around her. She turns in one direction
to find Connor right in her face!
Before she can react, Connor smacks the gun out of her hands
and grabs her by the throat, effortlessly lifting her in the
air.
CONNOR
Do an old friend a favor, Justine?
(beat; menacing)
Tell Holtz I said hi when you see
him in Hell.
Connor's hand and arm starts to GLOW and Justine SCREAMS as
an intense blue light pours out of her eyes, nose, and mouth.
Connor closes his eyes as he's bathed in the same light.
Justine's screams fade as the light dissipates. Connor drops
her lifeless body. Her eye sockets look hollow and smoky, as
if her eyes were literally burned out of her face.
His phone rings and he answers it.
CONNOR
Yeah?
INTERCUT WITH THE WALKWAY
It's Taylor on the other hand.
TAYLOR
We've got Da-dums.
CONNOR
(grinning)
Great! Now kill him.
Taylor nods to Peyton, who cocks the shotgun.
CONNOR
No, wait! I've got a better idea.
Taylor grabs the shotgun before Peyton gets her shot off.
CONNOR
We'll call a presser for the
morning. Pike's the face of the
rebellion. We'll let the whole
world watch their last bastion of
hope take his last breath.
Connor cackles to himself.
IN ANOTHER AREA OF THE WALKWAY
Dare, still pulling Gabriella along, stops at a LADDER and
urges Gabriella up it.
GABRIELLA
No! We have to go back for them.
DARE
Yeah, 'cause I really felt like
dying today.
(shoving Gabriella)
Now climb!
Gabriella starts to climb. When she's high enough, Dare
slings her rifle's strap around her shoulder and starts to
climb up.
Gabriella strains to push the manhole cover off and climb out
